How Setting up Google Alerts Helps You to Find Customers

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Find potential customers with Google Alerts

Did you know that you can setup a Google Alert for your chosen keywords in your Gmail and/or iGoogle account that will help you find potential customers?

You can use those alerts to receive blog posts, news articles, yahoo &  forum questions, and more into your inbox. Then you can respond with advice and support in your area of expertise, using your signature block to drive traffic to your website.

Here is an example of a Google Alert

Say you are a plumber. You know that one set of keywords people use when they have a problem with their sink could be sink is blocked (maybe not those exact keywords but you get my drift right!). So you setup a Google Alert for sink is blocked and you receive a message with posts, questions, etc that include those keywords.

When you read the alert you decide if your expertise or product fits that situation and you provide a response.

Use Google Alerts to benefit the reader not yourself, meaning, don’t spam or put rubbish comments up just to get your link to show up. Provide meaningful advice or links to relevant information and you will reap the rewards.

An outstanding share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a coworker who was doing a little research on this. And he in fact bought me lunch because I discovered it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this…. Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanx for spending time to talk about this issue here on your site.
